Public Works Information

Road Maintenance and Improvement – Raritan Township has 188 miles of roads and the Public Works Department is charged with maintaining the local road network. We repair potholes and perform patches where needed. We also repave and perform larger repairs every year in addition to Right of Way Mowing, Tree Trimming, and Road Sweeping. Every year over 6,000 storm drains in the township are inspected and cleaned. Storm drains are replaced and repaired as needed.

Parks & Grounds Maintenance– We maintain the facilities by mowing the grass, maintaining the buildings and lining the sports fields.

Recycling – The recycling center is located at the Public Works facility on Pennsylvania Ave. Please see the recycling page for information on policies, times, and regulations.

Clean Communities- The Clean Communities Program is a State Funded Grant to help in the removal of litter from Township roads.  The grant covers the cost of litter removal and money to pay a fee to Non-Profit Organizations for litter removal.  Any Non-Profit Group interested in this program should contact the Public Works Department.
