Major activities within the scope of this office include: Commercial building inspections, Complaints, Permit Control, and Smoke Detector Inspections on re-sale. We also conduct Fire Safety Presentations for Schools, businesses, and other community groups; control of false alarms and fire zones; fire investigations to determine origin and cause; site plan reviews; youth firesetter interventions; and emergency response.
As one of the largest local enforcing agencies in the State, our on-call fire marshal staff provide coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to and investigate fires, illegal open burning, and provide additional requested support to fire departments in our coverage area. Our on-call staff are available after hours to investigate reports of life-threatening or dangerous situations involving fire code violations.
