Following much of the Garden State receiving more than three-quarters of an inch and an inch of rain or more in the past 24 hours, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service announced Thursday, Nov. 21 that fire restrictions statewide have been lifted.
As of 11:45 am today, the Forest Fire Service lists the fire danger as “low” on its dashboard.
"Although restrictions have been lifted, the Forest Fire Service asks that New Jerseyans do not become complacent and continue to be careful when using fire," the agency said on its social media pages.
Previously, as part of a drought warning designation from Gov. Phil Murphy and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Nov. 13, all fires were prohibited unless in an elevated stove using only propane, natural gas or electricity.
