Raritan Township’s Public Works Accepting Styrofoam for Recycling
RARITAN TWP., N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Raritan Township’s Department of Public Works (DPW) began its new program for Styrofoam recycling last month.
On November 27, the Township issued an alert advising residents that its Township Committee approved of the program’s launch. Along with a permit, residents are required to have their Styrofoam in clear bags for disposal to reduce contamination.
Annual recycling and non-recycling permits are issued exclusively to Raritan Township Residents. A recycling permit costs $5.00, and residents have unlimited drop-off visits to DPW’s drop-off center located at 204 Pennsylvania Avenue, Flemington, N.J. 08822. Permits are digital and emailed to the resident directly.
Residents are advised that purchasing a permit is done online and must be completed prior to dropping off your Styrofoam or any other accepted materials. A full list of accepted recycling materials can be found on DPW’s Trash & Recycling page.
